"The good news is we know what to do. The good news is, we have everything we need now to respond to the challenge of global warming. We have all the technologies we need, more are being developed, and as they become available and become more affordable when produced in scale, they will make it easier to respond. But we should not wait, we cannot wait, we must not wait."
He is an author, environmental activist and the former Vice President of the United States. He featured in the 2006 documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", which won an Academy Award in 2007, and wrote the book "An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It", which won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in February 2009.
Along with the IPCC, he was co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for spreading global awareness on climate change. He is the founder and currently the chairman of 'Alliance for Climate Protection', an organization founded in the United States in 2006 aiming to "persuade people of the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis". One of his many organizations, Save Our Selves, organized the worldwide benefit concert "Live Earth" to raise awareness about climate change.
